Education:
B.S. in Computer Science, 2 yr degree, or equivalent experience

Certifications:
Microsoft, Linux (nice but not required)

Requirements:
1-3 years of Information Technology experience.

Skills:
Windows, Linux (RedHat), VOIP, Samba, Java, HL7

Job Description:
Access Genetics is seeking a talented systems analyst / technical support specialist to handle planning, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Access Genetics's computer and phone network. The candidate will be maintaining and defining the equipment, software, and policies for our growing company of 30 employees and supporting them from a technical standpoint. The candidate will also be directly responsible for configuring computers, software, lab equipment and working with our new and existing client's IT staff to facilitate installation at their site. Technical support and daily interaction with our existing clients will be a key part of the job. The successful applicant will be able to quickly diagnose and resolve issues while working effectively with minimal oversight. Excellent communication skills are required as the candidate will be working with our customers and employees every day.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Installation and Support

  • Order/setup/test our suite of lab equipment(computer and imager) for new clients. Work with our client's IT staff to bring the system up at their site.
  • Support and Diagnose problems at customer sites with hardware and software.
  • Build and maintain a support database to track problems.

Internal Infrastructure and Support

  • Network/Server Administration
    (Samba/Windows, Email, Monitoring, Backups, Firewalls, Configuration, Antivirus, Redundancy, VPN)
  • Computer setup and configuration for new and existing employees
    (Disk encryption, Antivirus, Backup, Cloning)
  • Internal Desktop Support for our staff of 30 employees (WindowsXP)
  • Phone System configuration/support/selection
  • Process Documentation.
  • Define and set hardware standards.

Other
Job may require some light travel for some customer installs. Less than 5% travel.
Job will require the employee to be on a rotating pager for server support.
